Program Coordinator
Overview of our organization Our mission at BBBS NW Montana is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. We are a small nonprofit organization that works with community partners and schools to identify children who would benefit from an additional layer of adult support. We work closely with a team of volunteer mentors to grow and maintain healthy mentoring relationships with the goal of defending the potential we know exists in every child. We are led by a board of directors and supported by an army of individuals, businesses, organizations, schools, and foundations in both Flathead and Missoula counties.Position Description The primary function of this position is to enroll and support the youth mentees and adult mentors. This includes facilitating a rigorous and well-documented inquiry and enrollment process, thoughtfully matching a mentee with a mentor, and actively engaging the mentee, mentor, and parents/guardians to ensure the best risk-management practices, healthy growth of the relationship, and healthy growth of the child. This job also includes related responsibilities such as: managing Big & Little recruitment, participating in fundraising and awareness events, being an ambassador in the community for our organization, engaging in organizational workshops and meetings, and actively working with our partners in the community.The individual in this role would work closely within a small team while supporting the mission across two counties. The successful candidate will possess the capacity to work independently and make vital decisions that reflect best practices while working, in-person and virtually, collaboratively with teammates, families, children, mentors, partner organizations, schools, and other community entities.Work Location This role requires close work within the Flathead community. The ideal candidate lives in or near the city of Kalispell with regular commute to Missoula office.Salary , Status, & FTE This position is offered at 32 hours/week. This non-exempt position has a rate of pay of $18.00/hour.Benefits After a 90 day probationary period, this position is eligible for benefits including: 11 paid holidays, accrued time off including mental health & sick days. Employees are eligible for a Simple IRA with 3% company match after one year. Position qualifies for Federal Public Student Loan Forgiveness.Internal Structure This position reports directly to the Executive Director.Travel Requirements Consistent travel within Flathead County via own vehicle and occasional travel to meetings in Missoula, or a site in-between.Required Experience and SkillsBachelor's degree preferred but education and commensurate experience considered.Excellent written and oral communication skills and an exceptional listener.Experience working collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.Excellent computer skills, including the ability to use office technology (email, Microsoft Office and database management)Experience listening carefully and assessing individuals’ needs, strengths, and challengesExperience managing confidential information and processesAbility to make ethical, moral, and mission-driven decision consistentlyAbility to understand the objectives and goals of the organization and to further those activelyApplicant will be required to pass a background check to include: fingerprinting, criminal history, credit history, and driving recordPay: $18.00 per hourBenefits:Flexible schedulePaid time offWork Location: In person
