Staff Accountant Consultant

About the Opportunity:We are partnering with a growing organization in San Diego seeking a Staff Accountant Consultant to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is comfortable balancing transactional accounting support with more analytical close responsibilities. The ideal candidate is adaptable, eager to learn, and brings strong problem-solving skills along with a hands-on approach to accounting operations.Duration: 6+ month contractLocation: Hybrid – San Diego, CACompensation: $35–$40/hourPlease note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.Scope:• Provide support for accounts payable operations, including responding to vendor inquiries and assisting internal employees with payment-related requests • Assist with month-end close activities, with an emphasis on accrual journal entries and account reconciliations • Help ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and supporting schedules • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes • Contribute to ongoing accounting and operational initiatives in a dynamic, evolving environment • Support flexible AP coverage needs throughout the week based on business demandsQualifications & Expertise:• 3+ years of accounting experience, including exposure to accounts payable and general ledger activities • Experience supporting month-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations • Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and attention to detail • Adaptable, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment • Ability to manage priorities independently while collaborating effectively across teams • Experience with NetSuite is a plus • Prior experience working within a smaller or growing company environment preferredAbout Sayva:Sayva Solutions is an accounting, finance, technology, business transformation and human resources professional services firm whose focus is on long term relationships created through teamwork and doing what is in the best interest of others.
