Facility Specialist

Facility Maintenance: Oversee daily maintenance operations of the building or facility, ensuring that systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems are functioning optimally. Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and scheduled inspections. Supervise facility contractors and vendors performing maintenance services. 2. Equipment and Infrastructure Management: Monitor and manage facility equipment such as lighting systems, alarms, generators, and fire safety equipment. Ensure all equipment is regularly serviced and meets compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. 3. Inventory and Supply Management: Maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies needed for facility operations. Work closely with the procurement team to order and replenish supplies as needed. 4. Space Planning and Optimization: Assist in space planning and the efficient utilization of available facilities. Coordinate office or lab setups, relocations, and reconfigurations as needed. 5. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation routes and contingency procedures. Act as the point of contact for emergency services and coordinate emergency drills. 6. Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors for building maintenance, repairs, security services, janitorial services, and other operational needs. Negotiate service agreements and monitor the quality of vendor-provided services. 7. Budgeting and Reporting: Prepare and manage the budget for facility maintenance and operations. Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and expenditures. Generate reports on facility usage, safety inspections, and maintenance schedules. QUALIFICATIONS: A successful candidate for this position must have the following hands-on experience, knowledge, and skills: 1. Educational Requirements: A high school diploma or GED is typically required. Additional technical certifications in facility management, building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing are advantageous. A degree in facility management, engineering, or a related field is a plus but not always required. 2. Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in facility management, maintenance, or a related field. Experience working with various systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety. 3. Technical Skills: Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other facility management software. Basic understanding of blueprints and technical drawings. 4. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Ability to work in various weather conditions (for outdoor facility work).
