Structures & Payload Design Engineer

Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) Company is seeking Structures & Payload Design Engineers to join the AH-64 Apache Airframe Integrated Product Team (IPT) located in Mesa, AZ. We are hiring Experienced (Level 3) to Senior (Level 4) Design Engineers. Position Responsibilities Engineering support and project leadership within an Integrated Product Team. Ability to communicate professionally across multiple organizations and/or throughout all levels of leadership. Develop, maintain, and modify basic structural component designs using 3‐D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools and other methods to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Develop solutions to a variety of technical problems. Perform tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Assist with supplier development, test and production activities, and coordinate with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. Support investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Work under general to minimal direction. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) Mid‐Level (Level 3) – Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Engineering Technology), Computer Science, Engineering Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry (e.g. 'Bachelor') and typically 5 or more years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non‐US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred, although not required. Senior (Level 4) – Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. 'Bachelor') and typically 9 or more years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non‐US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred, although not required. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) Experience leading a cross‐functional team. Prior work experience supporting the AH‐64 Apache attack helicopter and/or the AH‐6 Little Bird helicopter. Experience in structural design process from conceptual layout phase through build‐to‐package release. NX CAD and Teamcenter PDM skills. Knowledge of structural design principles for aircraft primary and secondary structure. Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally. Pay & Benefits Base pay ranges: Experienced (P3): $103,700 - $140,300; Senior (P4): $126,650 - $171,350. Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities.
