Role: Java Backend DeveloperExperience: 13+ yearsLocation: 55 water street, NY (Day one Onsite)Duration: ContractContract: W2 Only / No C2CVisa: GC, USC & H4 EADResponsibilitiesIdeal candidates should have 13+ years of strong Java experience in designing, developing, testing, and successfully deploying critical and complex projects.Must have strong Java skills with experience in development of concurrent and distributed systems.Hands on experience using Java 8 features (Streams API, Functional programming)Design and development of Java applications for S&P DJI platform systemsParticipate in multiple software development processes including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing and DocumentationDevelop software applications based on clear business specificationsWork on new initiatives and support existing Index applications.Build applications with object-oriented concepts and apply design patternsSetup development environment / sandbox for application developmentMust have 8 + yrs. advanced experience with Spring-based technologies (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud etc.) and caching frameworks like Hazelcast.Role requires experience in designing and implementing micro services-based solutions; and experience writing unit/integration tests.Must have 8 + yrs. SQL knowledge and experience writing SQL queries and good understanding of data models.Perform unit testing of application code and fix errorsInterface with databases to extract information and build.Effectively interact with customers, business users and IT staff.Basic QualificationBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience10+ years of IT experience in application development.Strong Architectural experience in developing complex financial systems.Strong design and development skills to build end of day financial systems.Strong Experience with Java, J2EE, JMS, Maven/GradleHands on experience in designing, developing, testing, and successfully deploying critical and complex projectsStrong Java skills with experience in development of concurrent systemsGood experience with Spring-based technologies (Spring Boot etc.)Experience in designing and implementing micro services-based solutionsShould have experience writing unit/integration testsExperience writing SQL queries and good understanding of data modelExperience with Spring framework.Experience in Rest ServicesExperience in caching like Elasticsearch, Redis.Experience in ActiveMQ or any other related messaging provider.Experience in SQL, PL/SQL programming.Exposure to Cloud, preferably AWS servicesExposure to Docker containers & ECSExposure of AWS cloud (EC2, ECS, Load Balancer, Security Group, Lambda, S3, etc.)Exposure to CI/CD like Jenkins, Gitlab..etcStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience in DevOps development and deployment using docker and containers.
