Hansen Mfg. Co., an ISO 9001 certified company, is a leading manufacturer in the commercial hardware industry located in Waukegan is currently seeking a full time Machining/Welding Supervisor. The Machining/Welding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the welding, machining, and wire bending departments to ensure production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery schedules are consistently achieved. This role supervises production personnel, coordinates workflow, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical manufacturing knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive productivity while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Requirements: Supervise and coordinate daily activities of welding, machining, and wire bending personnel. Schedule and prioritize work to meet production deadlines and customer delivery requirements. Monitor workflow, machine utilization, labor efficiency, and production output. Ensure jobs are completed according to specifications, drawings, and work instructions. Collaborate with planning, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve production issues. Minimize downtime through proactive problem-solving and resource coordination Lead, coach, and develop production employees across multiple manufacturing disciplines. Conduct training for safety procedures, equipment operation, quality standards, and best practices. Manage employee performance, attendance, disciplinary actions, and evaluations. Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement culture. Ensure products meet company and customer quality requirements. Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues. Maintain accurate production and inspection records. Verify adherence to welding procedures, machining Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies and safe work practices. Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards promptly. Ensure proper use of PPE, machine guarding, and welding safety procedures. Maintain organized and clean work areas in accordance with 5S principles.
