Nurse Practitioner - Obesity Medicine

We are seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner with an interest in obesity medicine. Communication skills, empathy, health and nutritional education skills and a coaching mindset is essential for the position. Being able to review and apply evidence-based guidelines with patients and to provide nutritional and behavioral support is important. You will work under the Physician/Owner, who is a board-certified physician in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. Experience in primary care, family medicine, psychiatry, obesity medicine is preferred. We address weight management with an evidence-based comprehensive approach. We are seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner with an interest in obesity medicine. Communication skills, empathy, health and nutritional education skills and a coaching mindset is essential for the position. Being able to review and apply evidence-based guidelines with patients and to provide nutritional and behavioral support is important. You will work under the Physician/Owner, who is a board-certified physician in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. Experience in primary care, family medicine, psychiatry, obesity medicine is preferred. Roles and Responsibilities: See patients Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm Conduct medical exams, order and interpret pertinent labs, prescribe and manage FDA-approved obesity medications for patients. Provide excellent patient care and treat patients with compassion while developing trust and rapport. Provide support, reflective listening, and compassion to patients struggling with obesity and its comorbidities. Implement evidence-based medical an psychosocial interventions for obesity. Work in a team with other clinical support staff. Be proficient with the use of electronic medical record (we use Athena). Training will be provided. Maintain patient confidentiality. Follow established evaluation and treatment protocols as well as office procedures. Communicate with Physician who oversees all patient care. Candidate Requirements: Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited school, licensed by the state board in Georgia, and have strong references. NP Degree with certification, no specialization needed. 1+ year of clinical experience in an outpatient office (preferred); primary care, family medicine, psychiatry, obesity medicine all preferred. National practitioner database report showing claims, if any. Computer literacy and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Empathetic personality, and an enjoyment in caring for patients directly. Maintain professional appearance and demeanor. A positive attitude showing initiative and willingness to adapt to change. Experience with Athena and Epic preferred.
