Quality Documentation & Calibration Technician

The individual will work with the quality team to support calibration, inspection, customer documentation and testing requirements. This individual will support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing process and support corrective and preventative action initiatives in the Milwaukee Division.Responsibilities:Review and maintain completed manufacturing documentation for accuracyScan files and organize documents in the appropriate directory and designated locations. Compile First Article Inspection reports (FAI per AS9102) and Certificates of Compliance for shipmentsSchedule and prepare for customer source inspectionsAssist in gauge calibration with outside service providers; maintain gauge calibration and provide gauge list to each department monthly; perform gauge R&R studies. Perform product testing including hardness, load loss, grinder burn tests, cleanliness tests, and other testing of product as requiredBallooning drawings and preparing FAIR formsPrepare quality documents for shipping. Perform internal audits as requiredAbility to perform process capability analysis including gauge R&R studiesPerform inspections for PPAP’s, FAIR’s, and other quality inspections as requiredProvide assistance for corrective actions / root cause analysis and assist with the disposition of non-conforming productsOther duties as assignedQualification:Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Quality or related educationExperience in measuring and inspecting of products using Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) including optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, height indicators, drop gauges and profilometer. Strong communication skills (verbal, written). Ability to create documents in Excel, Word and basic PDF editingMust have exposure to auditing effective quality procedures and processes. Ability to read engineering drawings and develop inspection criteria. Working knowledge of GD&TExperience with SPC, gauge calibration, root cause analysis, FAIR and PPAP documentation.
