Java Software Engineer

Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The Software Engineer I contributes to the development and maintenance of our internal and external applications and services. This position assists in documenting the technical scope and design for new development and enhancements; designs and develops code; and ensures quality and integrity of software.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:Contribute to new design and development on assigned projectsCreate technical solutions based on end user requirementsContribute to and utilize programming guidelines/standardsUnderstand and work within the SDLC methodology and recommend process improvementsUnderstand dataflow and integrations of key systems to enable solution design and bug resolutionUnderstand both server side and client-side development and contribute to the design of user interfaces and services to streamline processing to produce responsive applications using Microservice Architecture.Performs additional duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in an appropriate field (e.g., computer science, information technology, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.ExperienceKnowledge in the following areas is preferred: Spring Framework, Spring boot, REST Web Services, Microservices, Junit, Mockito, UI Design, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, basic SQL skills.Nice to have knowledge in the following: Angular JS, Angular, jQuery, JSP, Jasmine, Karma, Git, Kubernetes, Apache Camel, RabbitMQ, Drupal, Eclipse, STS, WebStorm, PL/SQL, JiraSkills, Knowledge and AbilitiesStrong customer service orientation.
