Position Type:Operations & Maintenance/CarpenterDate Posted:3/19/2026Location:School Operations and MaintenanceClosing Date:Open Until FilledPOSITION INFORMATION:Supervisor: Mr. John Coberly, Maintenance SupervisorEmployment Period: 12 monthsEmployment Status: Full-timeStart date: 1 July 2026Salary: Commensurate with experienceDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled carpentry and masonry tasks to repair and/or improve equipment and buildings/facilitiesMaintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projectsRepair/assemble/install cabinets, desks, tables and other office furnitureRepair doors, signs, window components/screens and similar itemsOperate woodworking machineryBuild custom case work, signs, picture frames, and bulletin boardsMake counters, cabinets, and table tops with FormicaReplace floor and ceiling tiles, frame and finish walls, and construct shelvesMake concrete repairs and performs construction of new sidewalks, stoops or rampsMake/repair brick and CMU walls/doorways/window openings to a finished gradeLay porcelain and ceramic tilesRespond to after hour service calls, emergencies, and holidaysProvide a safe and healthy learning environment in compliance with EPA and OSHAAll other related duties as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTS:Requires a high school diploma or GEDRequires a valid Virginia driver's license and acceptable driving recordAbility to read a ruler, blueprints, and repair manuals/catalogsAbility to work with extended heights from ladders, scaffolds, mechanical lifts, etc.Ability to work in confined spaces above and below groundAbility to work outside in a variety of temperatures and climate conditionsAbility to establish and maintain an effective and professional relationship with peers and school district staffAbility to perform all required tasks with strength and dexterity to include; lifting 50 pounds or greater, stooping, bending, and working in various postures and positionsAPPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:You may apply anytime before midnight on the application deadline date listed below.
