Senior Financial Planning Analyst (Birmingham)

About the roleWe are placing a Senior Financial Analyst on behalf of a client in the Birmingham area. This role is central to financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making for a growing organization. You'll work cross-functionally with leadership to translate financial data into actionable business intelligence.ResponsibilitiesLead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, forecasting, and budgeting processesBuild and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and capital allocation decisionsDeliver variance analysis and KPI reporting to senior leadership and department headsPartner with operations, sales, and executive teams to identify cost-saving and revenue opportunitiesOversee preparation of board-ready financial presentations and executive summariesEvaluate business performance through profitability analysis, trend identification, and scenario modelingSupport M&A due diligence, project financing, or other strategic transactions as neededMentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of finance team processesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA a plus5+ years of progressive financial analysis experience; corporate finance or FP&A preferredAdvanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) preferredStrong command of GAAP and financial statement analysisDemonstrated ability to present complex financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholdersHigh attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
