Senior Financial Planning Analyst
About the role We are placing a Senior Financial Analyst on behalf of a client in the Birmingham area. This role is central to financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making for a growing organization. You'll work cross-functionally with leadership to translate financial data into actionable business intelligence. Responsibilities Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, forecasting, and budgeting processes Build and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and capital allocation decisions Deliver variance analysis and KPI reporting to senior leadership and department heads Partner with operations, sales, and executive teams to identify cost-saving and revenue opportunities Oversee preparation of board-ready financial presentations and executive summaries Evaluate business performance through profitability analysis, trend identification, and scenario modeling Support M&A due diligence, project financing, or other strategic transactions as needed Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of finance team processes Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA a plus 5+ years of progressive financial analysis experience; corporate finance or FP&A preferred Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) preferred Strong command of GAAP and financial statement analysis Demonstrated ability to present complex financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
