This role supports MS NOW programming while collaborating across select CNBC creative initiatives, creating motion design that drives audience engagement across live television, promotional, and branded platforms.This position is ideal for a designer who can work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing craft, thrives in deadline-driven environments, and understands how strong promotional design supports both editorial and marketing goals.The Motion Designer designs and animates high-quality motion graphics that support MS NOW's promotional strategy, brand identity, and editorial content. Working closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Senior Motion Designers, and Producers, this role contributes to on-air promos, marketing campaigns, show packages, and daily programming—often under tight timelines.Essential Functions / ResponsibilitiesDesign and animate motion graphics with a primary focus on on-air promotion, marketing campaigns, and brand initiativesCreate promotional assets including show opens, branded packages, transitions, explainers, and full-screen animationsSupport daily programming graphics as needed, including lower thirds and editorial animationsCollaborate with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Senior Motion Designers, and Producers to deliver visually compelling, on-brand workExecute creative efficiently while managing multiple assignments and competing deadlinesParticipate in all phases of production, from concept development and storyboards through final deliveryRespond quickly and thoughtfully to creative feedback and shifting prioritiesAdapt designs rapidly for last-minute changes, breaking news, and time-sensitive promotional needsSupport cross-brand promotional initiatives and campaigns with CNBC creative teams as neededMaintain organized project files and follow established workflows, technical standards, and delivery specificationsQualificationsBasic QualificationsMinimum 5 years of professional motion design experience, preferably in broadcast, news, or media environmentsA thorough understanding of the 12 Principles of Animation and how to apply them in broadcast and promotional workExpert proficiency in Adobe After EffectsStrong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and IllustratorSolid understanding of broadcast production workflows and delivery formatsStrong design fundamentals, including typography, composition, color, timing, and motion hierarchyProven ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high creative standardsA strong motion design reel or portfolio showcasing promotional, broadcast, or brand workEligibility RequirementsWillingness and ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as required by promotional and news schedulesMust be 18 years or olderMust have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United StatesEducationBachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Motion Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experienceDesired QualificationsExperience creating motion design for on-air promotion, marketing campaigns, or brand initiativesExperience working at a network, broadcast design agency, or media companyKnowledge of 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or similarExperience with Adobe Premiere and basic video editing workflowsFamiliarity with sound design or audio-driven animationStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to balance speed, accuracy, and creative quality in a fast-paced environmentHybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.
