Release Train Engineer

HCL Technologies is seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer to join our firm as a dedicated full-time employee. The RTE will facilitate ART events and processes, assist teams in delivering value, will escalate impediments, help manage risk and will drive relentless improvement. This position is located in Richmond, VA and does not offer relocation (due to Covid 19 restrictions, the role is being worked remotely until the client site opens back up next year).Responsibilities:Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanbans and other information radiatorsEstablish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of Vision, Roadmap, Backlogs, and Pre- and Post-PI meetingsFacilitate the PI planning eventSummarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives (the RTE) and publish them for visibility and transparencyAssist tracking the execution of featuresFacilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the ART sync at the Program LevelCoach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsetsHelp manage risks and dependenciesEscalate and track impedimentsProvide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecksEncourage collaboration across the programHelp drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycleWork with Product Management, Product Owners and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment and operational excellenceImprove the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the DevOps and Release on Demand competencyDrive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improveFoster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practicesQualifications & Experience:At least 5+ years of experience in a similar positionExperience working budgets; cost optimization and metricsExperience pulling data and putting metrics into a dashboard (JIRA, Tableau experience preferred)Ability to challenge the teams and drive accountabilityMust be able to guide teams with IP sprintsMust have a good understanding of Software Engineering process, Healthcare domain knowledge is highly desirableExcellent communication skills and proven ability to communicate effectively across the organization especially with stakeholdersStrong knowledge and understanding of SAFe Agile principles; SaFe certification preferredStrong experience working on JIRA for epics, stories, issues and task managementStrong knowledge of managing product build teamsA talent for multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, learning new skills and methodologies, and working under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independentlyFlexible working style, ability to work in various types of client environmentsAbility to lead decision making through influence, with the ability to make sound decisions in the best interest of the client as needed throughout the project lifecycleCollaborative working style with the ability to flex with many different types of working styles on client siteIndustry experience in Insurance/Healthcare desired
