Role: Financial Analyst – Investments & Debt ComplianceLocation: Tempe, AZ 85281Setting: HybridDegree:We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst – Investments & Debt Compliance to join our team. In this role, you will support the management of the University’s operating investment portfolio, assist with debt compliance and reporting, and play a key part in financial analysis and reporting activities. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their finance or accounting career who is interested in investments, public finance, or higher education.What You’ll DoInvestment & Financial ReportingSupport the management and reporting of the University’s investment portfolioPrepare and distribute monthly investment reports for University leadershipCompile materials and presentations for Investment Committee meetingsPrepare monthly accounting journal entries and maintain supporting schedulesAssist with year-end financial reporting, including audit workpapers and schedulesPrepare reports for external stakeholders, including debt rating agenciesDebt & ComplianceMonitor and analyze private use of University facilities to ensure complianceConduct annual space-use surveys and track private use activitySupport the debt issuance process, including coordinating documentationReview debt-related documents for accuracy and completenessAssist with continuing disclosure requirements and regulatory filingsHelp ensure compliance with arbitrage rebate requirements and other regulationsAnalysis & SupportAnalyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to managementSupport audit processes and respond to information requestsAssist with ad hoc financial and compliance projects as neededWhat We’re Looking ForQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)1+ year of experience in accounting, finance, audit, or a related area (preferred)Skills & ExperienceStrong understanding of financial and accounting principlesInterest or experience in investments, debt, or public finance (municipal or higher education experience is a plus)Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHigh attention to detail and accuracyEffective written and verbal communication skills
