This role works closely with structural engineers to translate design concepts, calculations, and specifications into high‑quality construction documents. The Structural Drafter II operates with minimal supervision, applies sound judgment to standard drafting and modeling decisions, and supports the development of less‑experienced drafting staff. Revit proficiency is strongly preferred for this position.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare complete and accurate structural drawings, details, and plans for buildings and other structures using Revit and/or AutoCAD.Develop, modify, and maintain Revit structural models including plans, sections, details, and schedules.Interpret engineering sketches, redlines, calculations, and specifications to independently produce construction documents.Coordinate with structural engineers and other disciplines to ensure drawing accuracy, constructability, and consistency across project documents.Revise and update drawings based on internal quality control reviews, client comments, and construction‑phase changes.Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and company drafting and modeling practices.Maintain well‑organized project files and adhere to established project documentation and naming standards.Assist with the development and maintenance of standard details and templates.Provide mentoring and technical guidance to Drafter I and Intern level staff, including answering questions and assisting with redline interpretations.Manage multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently while maintaining quality and consistency.Education and Skill Requirements:Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.Minimum of 3 years of professional structural drafting experience (required). Architectural‑only or civil‑only experience does not meet this requirement.Experience aligned with one of the following profiles: - Demonstrated structural drafting experience primarily in Revit, or - Strong AutoCAD drafting experience with some Revit experience (Revit proficiency preferred).Solid working knowledge of structural systems including concrete, steel, masonry, and wood framing.Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, take directions from engineers, and independently complete assigned drafting tasks.Familiarity with construction document production, detailing standards, and interdisciplinary coordination.Strong attention to detail, organization, and quality control.Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a project team.Supervisory Responsibilities:No formal supervisory responsibility; however, this role includes providing guidance, mentoring, and informal review of Drafter I and Intern level staff.Work Environment:The position is mainly office-based in Raleigh, NC, with flexibility for a hybrid schedule. The role requires prolonged periods of working at a computer workstation and frequent coordination with engineers, project teams, and other disciplines.Stonewall Structural Engineering is an equal opportunity employer.
