Eurofins offers a portfolio of over 200,000 analytical methods to evaluate the safety, identity, composition, authenticity, origin, traceability and purity of biological substances and products.Job DescriptionThe Maintenance & Facility Manager leads all facility infrastructure, utilities, and equipment maintenance operations to ensure a safe, compliant, and reliable 7-day biotech manufacturing operation.This role is responsible for leading the maintenance team, managing preventive maintenance programs, ensuring equipment and facility reliability, controlling maintenance costs, and supporting continuous operations in a cGMP/ISO-regulated environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFacility & Infrastructure LeadershipLead and manage all facility and building maintenance operations (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, boilers, utilities)Ensure safe and reliable operation of building infrastructure supporting 7-day biotech manufacturingOversee facility inspections, repairs, and improvement projectsManage contractors, vendors, and service providersEnsure chemical storage, waste handling, and environmental complianceLaboratory Equipment MaintenanceLead the maintenance team in fixing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating laboratory and production equipmentEnsure high reliability and uptime of lab equipment such as oligo synthesizers, liquid handlers, HPLC systems, and general laboratory instrumentsEstablish preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all lab equipmentSupport installation, validation, and qualification of new laboratory equipmentMinimize equipment downtime and ensure rapid response to equipment failuresCoordinate with operations and quality teams to maintain equipment performance and complianceMaintenance Team ManagementLead, supervise, and develop maintenance technicians and facility staffEstablish maintenance strategies, SOPs, and performance standardsCoordinate staffing, schedules, and on-call coverageEnsure weekend and off-shift maintenance support as neededDrive accountability, safety, and operational efficiencyCompliance & Continuous ImprovementEnsure compliance with cGMP, ISO, EHS, and safety regulationsMaintain maintenance documentation and audit readinessLead continuous improvement initiatives (5S, RCA, reliability programs)Manage maintenance budget and cost control initiativesPartner with operations and quality teams to support continuous productionQualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferredExperienceMinimum 5+ years of Maintenance Manager or Facility Manager experienceExperience managing maintenance teams in biotech or manufacturing environmentsStrong experience with building utilities (HVAC, boilers, compressors, electrical, plumbing)Experience in cGMP or ISO-regulated environment preferredExperience with CMMS and vendor managementProven leadership and cost control experienceSkillsStrong leadership and team management abilityPreventive maintenance and reliability program experienceRoot cause analysis and problem-solving skillsBudget and operational planningStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to support 7-day manufacturing operationsOn-call and weekend availability as neededPreferred QualificationsSix Sigma Green Belt or Black BeltExperience in biotech, genomics, or pharmaceutical manufacturingKnowledge of oligonucleotide manufacturingExperience with automation and facility systemsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift 35+ poundsAbility to work in manufacturing and laboratory environmentsAbility to wear PPE and respirator if requiredAdditional InformationScheduleMonday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pmWhat We OfferExcellent full time benefits including comprehensive medical coverage, dental, and vision optionsLife and disability insurance401(k) with company matchPaid vacation and holidaysEurofins USA Genomic Services is a Disabled and Veteran Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
