The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the credit policy and analytics function, with a focus on small business financing and emerging embedded finance products. This pivotal role involves managing the risk appetite through advanced decisioning models, leading the development and implementation of AI/ML strategies, and supporting the challenge of business operations through data and data science-based business intelligence. The VP will also be tasked with partnering with cross-functional teams to productionize strategies, leveraging various data sources to enhance the credit strategy, and identifying opportunities to optimize the credit funnel. Applicants for the VP of Credit and Business Intelligence position at the company should have 8-10 years' of credit and/or analytics experience, with a preference for those with 3+ years' of direct merchant/SMB risk experience. The role requires a deep knowledge of underwriting, a proven track record in implementing business intelligence-based optimization strategies, and fluency in SQL and Python or R. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, with advanced MS/PhD qualifications being a plus, and at least 5 years' of experience in leading and scaling analytics teams. Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
