Junior Java Reactive Engineer - W2 role

Job Title: Senior Java Reactive EngineerLocation: Phoenix, AZ (Must be onsite 3x per week in the client Phoenix, AZ office)Duration: 6+ monthsIV Process: Video InterviewResponsibilitiesDesign, build, develop, and support high-performance, event-driven applications using Java, Kafka, Vert.x, and reactive programming, including non-blocking Java microservices using reactive architecture principles.Build event-driven solutions leveraging Kafka, asynchronous messaging, and resilient service communication patterns.Handle reactive stream processing, backpressure, error propagation, retries, and graceful degradation across high-volume workflows.Lead technical design, estimation, solutioning, and implementation in collaboration with Product Owners, architects, and stakeholders.Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive performance and reliability improvements.Participate in Agile ceremonies, release support, code reviews, and engineering governance.Promote coding standards, observability, automation, and engineering excellence.Qualifications4+ years of experience.Experience leading and being hands-on in the design, build, and support of high-performance, event-driven applications using Java, Kafka, Vert.x, and reactive programming.Strong production engineering, distributed systems, and technical leadership experience.
