Senior Application/Database Developer

Job Description - long term contract (~2+ years - no end date) - hybrid 3 days onsiteInsight Global is seeking a Senior Application Developer with strong database expertise to design, build, and maintain complex, data driven applications across diverse technology stacks. This role requires a hands on developer who can work across application frameworks, backend services, and relational databases, while quickly understanding and enhancing existing systems and business logic. The ideal candidate has experience building scalable services, working with microservices and Python, and optimizing database interactions to support high performing applications. This is a fast paced, highly autonomous environment requiring strong problem solving and the ability to deliver quality solutions with minimal supervision. Position is onsite in downtown Houston at least three days per week with a pay rate of $65-72/hr.Required Skills & Experience5 plus years of professional software development experienceStrong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL MySQL SQL Server Oracle or DB2Proven ability to write optimize and maintain complex queries stored procedures and database logicExperience developing applications using Python and or microservices architectureAbility to analyze and modernize existing codebases with minimal supervisionStrong problem solving skills with a track record of delivering solutions independentlyExperience working across multiple application stacks and environmentsAbility to rapidly prototype and deliver in a fast paced changing environmentFamiliarity with AI development tools such as Copilot Claude or Cursor and using them effectivelyStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and business teamsWillingness to work onsite in downtown Houston at least three days per weekCompensation:$65/hr to $72/hr.Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one ofemployment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
