Assistant Controller
Private equity–backed organization with multiple operating entities and specialty business units seeking an Assistant Controller to support day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. This role is highly hands-on and will work closely with the Controller and CFO in a fast-paced, evolving environment.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable owning core accounting functions while helping improve and organize processes as the business scales.Key ResponsibilitiesManage general accounting functions across multiple entities and subdivisions, including:General ledger maintenanceIntercompany activityAccount reconciliationsMonth-end and year-end close processesPrepare and compile financial, statistical, and operational reportsPerform detailed bank reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet and key income statement accountsMaintain schedules supporting corporate services and intercompany transactionsAnalyze financial data and determine appropriate accounting treatment for transactionsPrepare financial information for internal management, auditors, and external parties as neededProvide accurate, timely financial information to support management decision-makingAssist with quarterly and year-end audits and tax-related activitiesEvaluate current accounting policies, practices, and procedures and recommend improvementsSupport special projects and ad hoc assignments as directed by managementHighly Preferred Qualifications CPA or pursuingPublic Accounting background with Big 4 or large national CPA firmExperience in a multi-entity and/or PE-backed environmentExposure to process cleanup, accounting organization, and post-acquisition integrationStrong hands-on experience with day-to-day general ledger accountingExperience working in Netsuite, particularly with:CashFixed assetsPrepaidsAbility to perform bank reconciliations and maintain the general ledger independentlyExperience assisting with or owning month-end close responsibilitiesProven ability to maintain clean, accurate, and well-supported financial recordsExperience supporting audit requests and documentationAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with the accounting team and leadershipHigh level of reliability, urgency, and ability to hit the ground running
