Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) East Valley Mesa, AZ Campus (K-3rd Grade), 26/27 School Year$1k Sign-On Bonus and up to $500/year in non-taxable reimbursement for CEUs and licensure fees.AZACS is growing, and we invite you to apply to be part of our award-winning teamAZACS was awarded the 2023/2024 National ESEA Distinguished Schools Award for Arizona and the 2022 YASS Prize for innovation in education and providing a transformational experience by expanding unique individualized learning programs for autism charter schools.Under the supervision and direction of the Speech Language Pathologist, the SLPA will be responsible for:Implementation of student communication strategiesMoving students toward progress on IEP goalsTracking progress towards the goal and assisting with the completion of progress reportsEngaging in data-driven instruction and therapyImplementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategiesDuties:Under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist, the SLPA must implement goals identified on student IEPs related to Speech and Language in the areas of:Expressive Language SkillsReceptive Language SkillsSupport for students with Augmentative Communication DevicesSupport classroom curriculum as it relates to language acquisitionFollow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventionsDeliver services in a classroom integration modelCoach the classroom staff on the implementation of speech/language therapy goalsCommunicate effectively and proactively with students and familiesResponsible for paperwork compliance with data collections relating to IEP goalsAccountability for growth and proficiency on IEP goalsParticipate in annual and ongoing staff trainingProvide training for new SLPAs under the guidance and supervision of the SLPConduct no less than 2 professional development sessions per year on sensory under the guidance and supervision of the SLPProvide opportunities for shadowing, coaching, and modeling throughout the year for Tier 3 SLPAs that require additional support with guidance and supervision from the SLPRegular and predictable attendance is considered an essential requirement of your position.Complete Medicaid billingAdditional duties as assignedBenefitsCompetitive pay based on experienceSalaried, non-exemptMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Supplemental Life, Short-term disability, Group Life Insurance, Supplemental Benefits (hospitalization, critical illness, scheduled accident), and Pet Insurance.Paid Time Off (80 hours, prorated), paid federal holidays, and school breaksGreat professional development and advancement opportunities!Eligible to participate in a 401(k) Traditional and/or Roth with a company matchComplementary access to Calm Health for you and up to 5 of your loved onesUp to $500 in non-taxable reimbursement for CEU and licensing fees incurred each school yearTuition reimbursement after 6 months of employmentEligible to participate in the referral bonus program(*) A $1,000 sign-on bonus of $500 is paid after the first 90 days of the start date, and $500 after successful completion of the current school year, with satisfactory performance and attendanceMinimum Qualifications:Experience delivering services in a school setting, in a classroom integration model, is preferredAbility to approach situations with optimism and perseveranceExcellent verbal, written, and organizational skillsMinimum of two years SLPA experience in a school setting preferredExperience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferredRequired:Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance cardAssociate's degree or higher in Speech PathologyCertified SLPA in the State of ArizonaADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.Light Work:Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.Working Conditions:Work is routinely performed in an indoor classroom environment.The information contained in this job description is for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed by this position.
