Paint & Blast Team Leader
Reports To: Paint & Blast Supervisor
Classification: Non-Exempt (Working Lead)
Summary
R-Tech is accepting internal applications for a Paint & Blast Team Leader to support daily operations within the Blast and Paint departments. This is a hands-on working lead role responsible for coordinating workflow, maintaining safety and quality standards, and providing clear direction on the shop floor while actively performing production work.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily work assignments and priorities within the Blast and Paint areas
Ensure team members remain productive and comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards
Monitor surface preparation, coating application, and cure processes to ensure quality requirements are met
Address minor issues directly and escalate production, safety, or quality concerns to the Supervisor as needed
Assist with basic troubleshooting of equipment, material flow, or process issues
Support training and onboarding of new and existing Paint & Blast employees
Communicate production status, staffing needs, rework issues, or equipment concerns to leadership
Maintain housekeeping and organization standards within the Paint & Blast areas
Education & Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required
Post-secondary technical training, coating certifications, or relevant manufacturing experience preferred
A combination of education and experience will be considered
Minimum Qualifications
Current R-Tech employee in good standing
Demonstrated reliability with acceptable attendance
Experience in blasting, painting, or surface preparation operations
Ability to communicate clearly and provide direction to peers
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
Experience across both Blast and Paint operations
Prior experience as a lead operator, trainer, or informal go-to resource
Knowledge of coating processes, surface preparation standards, and material handling
Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to redirect peers respectfully and escalate issues appropriately
Additional Expectations
Lead by example in safety practices, attendance, quality, and conduct
Work collaboratively with Supervisors, Quality, and Operations leadership
May be required to support day or night shift coverage as operational needs require
