Job DescriptionAdams & Martin Group is assisting an industry-leading debt collection law firm with their search for a Kansas licensed Attorney . The office is located in Kansas City, Missouri, with court appearances in nearby Kansas state counties.Job Title: Associate AttorneyJob SummaryThe Associate Attorney position will gain extensive courtroom experience through regular appearances on behalf of the firm. This role is responsible for reviewing new claims and pleadings, managing a contested litigation queue, and supporting all aspects of the litigation process. Associates will develop comprehensive knowledge of court procedures, internal controls, and firm and client policies. This position has no billable hour requirements.Essential DutiesAppear in court on behalf of the firm a minimum of three days per week.Review new claims for compliance with firm and client standards.Review and approve pleadings filed with the courts, including complaints and motions.Occasionally draft motions and responses for contested matters as needed.Argue contested motions and conduct trials and arbitrations.Manage telephonic and written communication with opposing counsel.Prepare and respond to discovery or oversee counterclaims involving the firm or its clients.Education And Experience:Juris Doctorate and admission to the Kansas Bar required; admission to Missouri bar is desirable.
