Quality Control Manager

Quality Control Manager (Substation EPC Projects)Location: Site BasedSchedule: 60-70 hours per weekPosition Overview: The Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading and managing all quality assurance and quality control activities across substation EPC projects. This role ensures that construction, fabrication, and installation activities meet all contractual requirements, industry standards, and regulatory codes. The position combines technical expertise, leadership, and continuous improvement to drive quality performance across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain quality control programs, procedures, and standards aligned with EPC and utility substation constructionEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements across all project phasesReview construction documents including drawings, specifications, contracts, and procurement packages to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined and metLead quality improvement initiatives through root cause analysis, trend evaluation, and data driven decision makingAnalyze quality metrics and prepare reports for leadership to support project performance and strategic planningCollaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and fabrication teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actionsProvide training, mentorship, and guidance to project teams on quality standards, procedures, and best practicesAct as a subject matter expert on quality control, staying current with industry changes and updating internal processes accordinglyQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2+ years of construction quality experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience10+ years of quality control experience on large scale construction projects, preferably substations, transmission, or utility infrastructureOSHA 30 certification requiredStrong knowledge of construction codes and standards across electrical, mechanical, and civil scopesFamiliarity with regulatory requirements applicable to utility and infrastructure projectsProven ability to read and interpret construction documents including drawings and specificationsDemonstrated leadership, communication, and team management skillsStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Experience:Experience with EPC execution models for substation or utility projectsBackground supporting fabrication shops or equipment installation related to substationsExperience with quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement methodologiesFootBridge is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive environment where everyone is valued and respected.
