*Job Title: Senior SQL Engineer / DBA* *Location: Onsite 2 Days/Week – 1801 Royal Ln #200, Dallas, TX 75229* *Job Type: 3-6 Month Contract to Hire* *Eligibility: Can work only on W2* *Job Summary:* We are seeking an experienced and versatile Senior SQL Engineer / DBA to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL development and database administration, with the ability to work in a small, fast-paced environment where multitasking and flexibility are key. This role involves developing and optimizing SQL queries, managing DBA tasks, and supporting data migration and ETL processes. Experience with Azure SQL setup and management is a plus. *Key Responsibilities:* *✅ SQL Development & Optimization:* * Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures. * Lead performance tuning efforts, including indexing strategies, execution plans, and query optimization. *✅ Database Administration (DBA) Tasks:* * Manage database security, backups, high availability, and disaster recovery processes. * Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, ensuring stability and data integrity. *✅ Collaboration & Support:* * Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient database design and performance. * Support data migration, ETL processes, and reporting initiatives. * Assist in the design, deployment, and management of SQL environments in Azure SQL (preferred). *✅ Compliance & Best Practices:* * Ensure adherence to security standards, best practices, and database governance policies. * Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and integrity issues in a timely manner. *Required Skills & Qualifications:* *Must-Have Qualifications:* * 5+ years of experience in SQL development and DBA roles. * Expert-level knowledge of stored procedures, query optimization, and indexing. * Strong experience with database security, backup strategies, and high availability solutions. * Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data migration. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. *Nice-to-Have Qualifications:* * Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions, particularly Azure SQL. * Experience with setting up and managing SQL environments in Azure.
