As a diversified, national organization, you’ll have access to competitive benefits including a fresh perspective on workplace flexibility.This is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the US.Position PurposeProvide legal advice and strategic support to Centene’s commercial health plan business.Serves as a lead resource for commercial health plan regulatory matters, including Ambetter Health and SolutionsAdvise business and compliance partners on federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, guidance, and market requirements that impact commercial product lines and programsResearch, analyze, and interpret complex healthcare regulatory requirements, including but not limited to issues related to ACA/Exchange operations, mental health parity, No Surprises Act, essential health benefits, and broker mattersReviews, drafts and negotiates contracts, policies and procedures and related documentsProvides practical legal guidance to support implementation of new laws, regulatory changes, business initiatives, policies, procedures, and operational workflowManages or supports subpoenas, disputes, and outside counsel engagement as neededPartner with Compliance, Regulatory Operations, Product, Clinical, Network, Finance, and other business leadership to identify legal risks, develop practical solutions, and support timely decision-makingPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsEducation/ExperienceJuris Doctor (JD) required: 5+ years of experience in the areas of corporate or health law required1+ years of experience with government contract law, health law and managed care preferredKnowledge of Medicare and/or Medicaid insurance, state insurance and HMO regulations preferredStrong legal research, analysis, and writing skillsDemonstrated ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in a complex regulatory environmentBar Admission and currently in good standing preferredPay Range: $185,700.00 - $352,500.00 per yearCentene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.
