The divisionleveragesa broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space-enabled mission effects. VehicleGround ConceptsDepartmentDescription The Vehicle and Ground Concepts Department (VGCD) in EED provides space vehicle and ground systempreliminary/conceptual design;trade and architecture analysis, modeling, process development and leadershipexpertise; and tool development in support of conceptual design activities across the space enterprise. As a member of VGCD, you will bedesigninginnovativeground segmentsolutionstomeet the most pressing mission needs ofour US Space Force, Intelligence Community, NASA, NOAA, and commercial/international customers.Work Model This position willfollowan in-personwork model with a minimum of4days per week of onsite workrequiredinone ofAerospace's campuses inChantilly, VA, Colorado Springs, CO,Albuquerque, NM,orEl Segundo, CA. WhatYou'llBe Doing Providingconcept exploration and engineering support ofground systems forcustomer programsLeading andparticipatingin conceptual and preliminary design studies and trades of ground systems, to include multi-disciplinary engineering teamsEvaluating ground system design and architecture concepts andparticipatingin design reviewsWorking with government and program office personnel andtechnical experts across AerospaceDeveloping tools and models that support ground system concept design and analysis activitiesMentoring junior members of the departmentWhat You NeedToBe SuccessfulMinimum Requirements:Engineering Specialist Astrongknowledgeof ground systems, spacecraft systems,and systemsengineeringprinciplesProven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to change, anddemonstrateinitiative under pressure8+yearsof relevantexperience inleading, developing and working on multi-disciplinary engineering teamsDemonstrated experience indeveloping ground systems conceptsDemonstrated experience in mission control or mission processing systems for space systemsDemonstrated experience in concurrent engineering tools, processes, and methodologiesDemonstrated ability to work independently and conduct long-term technical studies for geographically dispersed programsOccasionaldomestictravelA current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance issued by the U.S. government.
