Amazon Security is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to provide technical leadership for the governance of AWS usage across Amazon's cloud footprint. The team builds and operates highly scalable, foundational systems for accessing and securing Amazon's cloud workloads. These products are used across all business verticals, giving you company‐wide influence. Key Responsibilities Architect and develop systems and processes for operating the largest enterprise multi‐account AWS footprint. Implement preventive controls and guardrails within AWS accounts and AWS Organizations to enforce standardization and prevent policy violations related to security groups, IAM, networking, logging, etc. Architect for high availability, scalability, observability, and disaster recovery in the context of AWS governance tooling and processes. Evangelize cloud governance best practices and drive improvements to our multi‐account strategy as AWS service offerings evolve. Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. Mentor other engineers on the team and promote best practices in software design, testing, operational excellence, and secure coding. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of professional software development experience. 3+ years of design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems. 1+ year of Object Oriented Design experience. Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
