Quality Engineer
You will manage daily quality assurance activities while optimizing manufacturing processes. By evaluating performance data, you will drive ongoing enhancements in supplier output. Your role involves creating robust testing, sampling, and training protocols to guarantee adherence to quality benchmarks. Additionally, you will perform audits and generate detailed reports to identify necessary corrective and preventative measures.
Professional Background
Ensure full compliance with BOS, ISO/TS-16949, and specific client mandates.
Collaborate with the team to help achieve and surpass established Plant and Customer KPIs.
Serve as a Layered Process Auditor when directed by leadership.
Drive measurable improvements in Production Quality metrics, such as RTY, Craftsmanship, RPPM, CPPM, SPPM, and Warranty/JD Power data.
Assist in preparing PPAP documentation for client approval, ensuring all packages are verified by the Product Service or Quality Manager before submission.
Maintain and revise Control Plans as necessary.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to update PFMEA documentation.
Create effective inspection and containment strategies.
Operate within client-specific software platforms like Daimler-Chrysler PRISM, GM PRR, or Ford WERS.
Execute and document capability studies for special characteristics to ensure internal and client standards are satisfied or deviations are formally secured.
Contribute to the ongoing refinement of Operation Description Sheets (ODS).
Select and apply relevant statistical methodologies while coaching colleagues on proper analytical techniques.
Act as the primary liaison for external clients to facilitate effective issue resolution.
Execute all advanced quality planning tasks required by the client.
Draft and deliver 8-D reports to clients within established timeframes.
Travel to client sites as the situation demands.
Facilitate clear communication between the production facility and the client.
Launch Quality Alerts when issues emerge and manage them through to resolution.
Verify root causes and corrective measures for all returned materials.
Schedule Requirements
Candidates must be available to work the A crew shift, which runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00am to 4:30pm.
