The primary function of the Warranty Administrator to handle all aspects of claims, ensuring that all the required processes are followed to achieve successful outcomes including regular factory audits.
SUPERVISION:
General Supervision- Warranty develops procedures for performance of variety of duties; or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines. Most assignments are completed independently.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare warranties to be processed by gathering, sorting, organizing, and recording data, information, and documents. Codes warranty as per manufacture guidelines.
Evaluate warranty repairs by comparing claim to warranty.
Fulfill warranty by preparing and coding repair claim for processing. Process claims as per manufacture policy. Reviews with manager authorization as needed.
Review rejected warranty claims with manager and prepare correspondence explaining warranty limits.
Help customers by clarifying warranty obligations; answering questions; responding to requests.
Keep information accessible by sorting and filing documents, updating databases.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Accomplish customer service and organizational mission by completing related results as needed.
Follow all prescribed Safety methods and perform work safely.

Requirements:
EDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience with warranty claims preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Ability to communicate orally and in written form with customers, manufacturers and vendors in a concise manner.
Exhibit good organizational skills and detailed record keeping (attention to detail is critical).
Ability to work independently, accomplishing the goals of the position with little direct supervision.
Demonstrate the ability to accomplish multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Ability to calculate hours, cost, etc., for submission of warranty reimbursement.
Hold and maintain a valid NYS Driver's License and Evidence of Insurability.
Ability to guide or instruct customers on proper procedures for filing warranty claims.
Ability to make good business decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies.
Speech and Hearing sufficient for regular in person and telephone communication with customers, vendors and manufacturers.
Ability to read company and industry correspondence sufficiently to understand the intended message.
Ability to write or type sufficiently to submit warranty claims and communicate to customers, vendors or manufacturers.
Be safety conscious and demonstrate the ability to follow prescribed safety practices as to prevent injuries to self and other employees.

Ability to understand oral and written instructions sufficiently to communicate with customers, vendors and manufacturers.
Have sufficient manual and finger dexterity that is required to use standard office equipment, computers and the grasping of small parts.
Lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally to process warranty on parts.
Sit for prolonged periods of time at a computer while processing warranty claims.
Stand and walk frequently to obtain and inspect warranted parts.
Occasionally Bend/stoop, push/pull, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, climb and reach to access all areas of the bus and maintain balance while carrying warranted items.
Repetitive Motion is required in using the computer to process warranted items.
