PPMD Excellence Manager - Strategic Initiatives

Position SummaryThe National Partner, Principal and Managing Director (PPMD) Excellence team sets strategy and leads execution across the PPMD lifecycle - admissions, development and succession, performance management, relations, and transitions - in collaboration with Deloitte businesses and firm leadership. Our objective is to enable consistent, objective processes that support PPMD careers and the needs of the U.S. Firms.As a Manager in the Office of PPMD Excellence, you will own execution across a portfolio of strategic, operational, and technology-enabled initiatives. You will partner with stakeholders across operating models and channels, develop executive-ready materials for leadership forums, and drive work spanning process improvement, transformation, change management, technology, AI-enabled solutions, data, and analytics. This role requires strong judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information.Reports to: Office of PPMD Excellence LeaderRecruiting for this role ends on April 28, 2026Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership, Governance & ExecutionOwn day-to-day delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives - keeping work within scope, on schedule, and aligned with business prioritiesLead end-to-end execution of key components of strategic initiatives and projects across the PPMD lifecycle, including workplans, milestones, and quality controlsEstablish and manage governance routines across stakeholders (cadence, decision points, issue escalation), ensuring alignment to firm standards and timelinesNavigate ambiguity and shifting priorities while maintaining clear stakeholder expectations and delivery accountabilityProcess Design, Transformation & Continuous ImprovementDiagnose complex problems, identify and assess options, and develop informed recommendations that improve the effectiveness, consistency, and scalability of PPMD lifecycle processesDevelop business cases, ROI analyses, and executive recommendations for new and evolving programsDefine and manage rollout of complex initiatives spanning multiple businesses, including requirements gathering, operating model implications, and change impactsIdentify risks, control considerations, and dependencies; partner with relevant groups to mitigate risk and enable effective executionStakeholder Management & FacilitationProactively counsel, advise, and influence stakeholders; facilitate discussions to clarify problem statements, surface tradeoffs, and drive decisionsServe as a representative and proxy for PPMD Excellence leadership as needed, maintaining professionalism and discretionBuild trusted relationships across businesses, channels, and enabling functions to enable collaboration and decision-makingExecutive Communications & MaterialsDevelop executive-ready storylines and deliverables for leadership forums, translating complex information into clear recommendations and implicationsPrepare business cases, progress reports, and meeting materials for stakeholders and leadersManage communications planning and execution for process changes and peak-cycle messaging in partnership with PPMD Excellence communications resourcesTechnology, Analytics & DataManage PPMD Excellence technology and analytics - including oversight of product management staff responsible for day-to-day platform operations, delivery, and stakeholder coordinationManage technology and AI-enabled project delivery, coordinating across technical teams, ITS partners, vendors, and internal centers of excellenceLead quantitative and qualitative analyses on complex topics; synthesize insights into clear conclusions and actions for leadersOversee related reporting and analytics deliverables, including dashboards, ad hoc requests, and recurring insightsTranslate business needs into technical requirements; manage stakeholder expectations and surface risks earlySupport adoption planning and change management as new initiatives and tools go liveRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree6-8 years in program management, consulting, or a combination - with experience managing both strategic and technical workstreamsExperience in a professional services environment (or similarly complex, matrixed organization), with strong business judgment and discretionDemonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through rollout, including work planning, stakeholder alignment, and executionStrong strategic thinking and analytical skills - ability to structure ambiguous problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop recommendationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation development and facilitationProven ability to counsel, influence, and partner effectively with stakeholders across all levelsExperience designing or improving technology and AI-enabled solutions; ability to serve as connective tissue between business stakeholders and technical teamsExperience with reporting, dashboards, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent)High degree of professionalism and integrity; ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive informationMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the futureAbility to travel 0-20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you servePreferred QualificationsDeloitte business experienceMBA or Master's degreeFamiliarity with the PPMD lifecycle and partnership modelsWork Environment* Location: Remote-first within the US* Travel: Occasional - one to four times per year to support leadership meetings and attend team meetingsThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
