Technical Engineer

We are partnered with an organization based in the Roanoke/Blacksburg, VA area seeking a Technical Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate should have working knowledge of metal parts manufacturing and casting processes. Candidate must be a hands-on problem solver. Position Highlights: Work directly with customers to ensure metal components are designed for optimal manufacturability Assess and recommend optimal manufacturing process or metallurgical options for prototyping to production Troubleshoot part quality issues and work with our foundry and machining facilities to achieve desired results. Perform audits of off-site foundries and other suppliers Work with and support account managers by providing technical expertise to assist their sales efforts Skills and Qualifications: Knowledge of engineering solutions to help drive profitability. Knowledge of Ferrous and non-ferrous casting process. Experience in Defect analysis of castings. Experience with nondestructive examinations of metal parts (Visual, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Radiography, and Ultrasonic testing), Excellent communication skills in order to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences, Effective personal organization skills. Must have a a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be located in or willing to relocate to Roanoke, VA #techops-indeed-tag
