Journeyman Machinist

Job Description Complete machine start-up, evaluation, and checks for vertical mills, lathes, & surface grinders Perform complex process set-up and material accommodation(s) Run and execute programs created by others Perform program adjustments or modifications at the machine as needed or directed Provide legitimate feedback on feeds and speeds that may not be fully optimized Create rudimentary programs at the machine to complete basic machining functions Perform all required quality checks, both intermediate and finals Recognize when a machine is providing feedback indicating an issue or maintenance is required. Run all equipment in the Machine Shop notwithstanding brand, type or condition Mentor less experienced operators when they have questions or run into issues Keep all equipment wiped down, clean, organized and ready for the next operation
