Chief Technology OfficerThrasher Companies: Thrasher Foundation Repair/Thrasher Partners/SupportworksThe OpportunityWe are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who approaches technology as a means to solve real business problems, not as an end in itself. This role is for a business-minded technologist who can step into a complex, multi-entity organization and design the systems, structure, and strategy that will support our next phase of growth.The right candidate has experience building or transforming technology organizations, not just operating within them. They are equally comfortable thinking at the enterprise level and working alongside operators to understand how work actually gets done. They can lead across infrastructure, engineering, and data without bias, and bring strong judgment in balancing speed, cost, and scalability.This is a role for someone who can move fluidly between strategy and execution, setting direction while staying close enough to the work to ensure it delivers real impact.Location – This position is based in Omaha, NE and requires in-office presence as we deeply value the collaboration, innovation, and culture that stem from working together.Who We AreThrasher Companies refers to a growing platform of operating companies, including: Thrasher Foundation Repair (core home services brand)Thrasher Partners (a collection of acquired companies)Supportworks (manufacturer and distributor) and its subsidiaries (including Powerbrace and FDN Engineering)Each business has distinct needs and operational focus, but all are moving toward a more integrated, enterprise-level model. Technology at Thrasher Companies supports four core areas: Infrastructure & Security: End-user support, cloud/network infrastructure, cybersecuritySoftware Engineering & Integrations: Internal tools, APIs, workflow automationData & Business Intelligence: Reporting, dashboards, KPI visibilityBusiness Systems & Technology Delivery: Implementation, project management, user adoptionAs CTO, you will:Build and Lead the Technology Function Design and evolve the structure of the technology organizationLead the four core functional areas under a unified visionDetermine the right balance between internal teams and external partnersOwn Enterprise Technology Strategy Create a cohesive, scalable technology architecture across all operating companiesEnsure alignment between infrastructure, engineering, and dataMake clear, disciplined investment decisionsDrive Business Impact Through Technology Partner with leaders across operations, marketing, finance, HR, supply chain, etc.Translate business needs into practical, high-impact technology solutionsEnsure systems are adopted and used effectivelyEstablish Operating Rhythm & Prioritization Build a clear process for defining, prioritizing, and executing technology initiativesMaintain ongoing dialogue with business leaders on trade-offs and progressPrevent technology from becoming siloed or reactiveLead the Build vs. Buy Evolution (Including AI) Develop a point of view on when to build custom tools vs. leverage SaaSExplore how AI-assisted development changes cost, speed, and capabilityEnable small, high-leverage engineering efforts where appropriateQualifications & Skills Demonstrated experience as a CTO, CIO, VP of Technology, or similar senior leadership role.Experience building or transforming technology organizations in a growing environmentStrong business acumen; able to translate problems into practical solutionsBroad leadership across infrastructure, engineering, and dataAbility to define and execute a clear, business-aligned technology strategySound judgment balancing speed, cost, scalability, and riskExperience with build vs. buy decisions and vendor managementFamiliarity with modern tech stacks (cloud, APIs, data platforms, AI-assisted development)Ability to design scalable systems without overengineeringStrong cross-functional leadership and partnership skillsClear communicator of technical concepts to business leadersAbility to set priorities, drive execution, and deliver resultsComfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levelsExperience leading change and driving adoptionWhy Join Our TeamThis is an opportunity to build on the technology function for a suite of companies entering their next phase of growth.We're not looking for someone to simply agree with our approach.
