There are two main objectives: (1) Field sampling--collecting freshwater fishes and identifying them to the species level; and (2) data entry--ensuring that data are entered correctly and efficiently into Microsoft Excel. Other duties as assigned.JOB DUTIES:90% - Essential - Field sampling. Conducting backpack electrofishing to monitor fish diversity in freshwater streams. Carrying and operating a backpack electrofisher, dipnetting stunned fishes, ensuring their safety in aerated buckets, and identifying them to the species leve.5% - Essential - Preparation for field work. Cleaning and storing field gear, fixing field gear as needed (e.g., patching waders or holes in dipnets, etc.), and preparing for sampling (making lists, etc.).5% - Essential - Data entry.
