OverviewAs a WIC Clinic Assistant, you will uphold our Mission, Vision, and Values. This position is responsible for assisting with the application and screening of WIC applicants, issuance of WIC EBT cards, and maintaining records related to clinic activities.As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Open Door Health Services provides comprehensive primary, urgent, preventive, and select specialty services and social support programs for individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay. Our patients represent diverse backgrounds, life experiences, capacities, and orientations.LocationThis position is located at 2600 W. White River Blvd.Roles & ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Provide front-desk and administrative support: answer calls, schedule/reschedule appointments, maintain files, complete reports, and assist at satellite clinics.Support WIC program operations: collect documentation, determine eligibility, take basic health measurements, and enter data into the system.Assist clients with services and resources: issue benefits, explain program rules, provide referrals (e.g., SNAP, TANF), and offer voter registration.Coordinate internally and manage tasks: communicate scheduling issues, manage supplies/inventory, and handle additional responsibilities as assigned.Emphasize strong interpersonal and professional abilities: deliver excellent customer service, communicate clearly, stay organized under pressure, adapt to changing needs, and work effectively with diverse individuals and teams.Successful candidates will: Demonstrate a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and client-centered careExhibit Open Door values: Esteeming the Team, Maximizing Potential, Doing the Right Thing, Choosing Compassion, and Encouraging UniquenessBe able to react calmly in emergency situationsBe able to read, understand, and follow detailed written and oral communicationBe able to learn to use and update electronic health records and other online systemsQualificationsHigh School diploma or GED equivalent.Minimum of 1 year experience working with the public in an office setting, preferred.Bilingual, preferredAbout Open DoorFor more than 50 years, Open Door Health Services has provided friendly, expert, patient-centered care for East Central Indiana residents, with or without insurance.
