High School Youth Employee - Recreation Leader

This job will be accepting job applications until the position is filled.Annual Salary:Please refer to the job description for qualifications and salary expectations.Department:Health & Welfare, Livability & TourismDivision:Office of Children, Youth & FamilyFLSA:Non-ExemptJob Description:PAY: $17.50 / hourSchedule: 20-Hours Per Week for 8 weeks (between the months of June - August 2026)Locations:Arthur Christopher Community Center - 265 Fishburne StreetSt. Julian Devine Community Center- 1 Cooper StreetShaw Community Center - 20 Mary Street*Applicant must be a high school student and least 16 years of age by hire date.*This role will learn about municipal recreation operations and engaging the community in a variety of activities.Examples of Duties:Works at an assigned recreation facility:Helps with set up of chairs, tables, supplies and equipment in designated areas for scheduled day camp activities.Under supervision, assists in arts and crafts, games, and other structured activities.Provides support on camp on field trips and outings.Assists with answering questions and communicating with parents.Monitors children to ensure orderly conduct.Performs other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications:Available to work 20 hours per week for 8 weeks (between the months of June - August 2026)Current high school studentAt least 16 years of age by hire date
