Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: Highly experienced engineering professional expected to support AEMI Sales / Customer Service team by interfacing with the external and internal engineering departments to help identify and generate design wins. Performs a variety of product, technical and engineering functions including but not limited to: pre/post-sales support, research, component analysis, design, and development. This position also supports the development and execution of business strategies to meet company sales objectives. Works directly with customers, applying strong analytical, organizational, time management, and communication skills. Interacts with cross-functional teams including sales, operations, engineering, and quality.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: List the job’s tasks, duties, and responsibilities in enough detail to give an accurate representation of the job’s essential functions. Do not include marginal duties.Identifies and develops relationships with key technical decision makers and influencers in each account.Establishes basic design requirements from the system level down to component level.Collaborates with design, production, and/or engineering departments to develop/execute technical strategies that help solve customer design challenges.Drives adoption of advocated solutions, with supplier partners, that meet customer needs and lead to increased design activity, design wins and sales growth.Creates presentations, technical papers, application notes, design guides, spec sheets and other sales related documentation.Creates and distributes product quotations for more complex customer requirementsProvides general application and product level sales training.Presents technical papers at trade shows and symposiumsIdentifies and tracks largest design opportunities from concept to production, utilizing all supplier resources to assure greatest potential for success.Interprets Military / Government and / or Supplier Controlled Documentation, determines AEMI product capability and generates associated quotations.Research major industry players to be able to communicate to internal and external customers, industry trends and directions.Attends internal and external technical training as needed, to complete and maintain certifications.Provide technical support to Customer Service and Sales teamsMINIMUM DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or Associate Degree in electrical / electronic engineering, or related field.8+ years' experience in electronics manufacturing environment.Familiarity with and ability to interpret detailed customer specificationsAbility to conduct component analysis and board level testing evaluationsExperience with public speaking and presentation of technical papersExperience with graphic design softwareThis position requires domestic and international travel (10-50%).Must be a US PersonMINIMUM DESIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Detail oriented and organizedSolid problem-solving skillExcellent negotiation skillsSolid understanding of products/services, the market, and the needs of assigned accounts.Understands emerging market trends and interdependencies impacting customers; leverages understanding to expand relationships with own customers.Collaborates with team and leadership.
