Staff Electrical Engineer
Base Pay: $90.00/hr - $100.00/hr
Contract: 12-month with possible extension

Role Overview
Provide strong technical expertise and engineering support for the design and development of new and existing medical device products. Support current products by ensuring quality, manufacturing efficiency, supply continuity, and cost improvements. Participate in cross-functional project execution while fostering innovation through the development of new concepts and enhancements to existing product performance.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop robust, manufacturable medical device products using established engineering principles.
Support existing products to improve quality, manufacturing efficiency, cost, and supply continuity.
Translate customer and user needs into engineering requirements through literature reviews, interviews, direct observation, competitive analysis, prototype evaluations, and clinical or simulated use studies.
Develop product, packaging, and process specifications based on defined requirements.
Develop and execute test methods, including defining measurement equipment, test setups, measurement system analysis, and data analysis.
Prepare detailed technical reports documenting design verification, testing, analysis, and design changes.
Ensure compliance with company quality policies and all applicable local, state, federal, and safety regulations.
Provide technical leadership and support the professional growth of team members.
Required Qualifications (Must Have)
Analog and digital circuit design for medical devices
Knowledge of IEC 60601 and ISO 13485 standards
EMC/EMI compliance and testing experience
PCB design and layout experience (Altium, Allegro, OrCAD, or similar tools)
High-speed design, grounding, and shielding techniques
Embedded systems experience, including microcontrollers and firmware integration
Communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, BLE
Risk management and documentation experience (FMEA, Design History Files)
Hands-on testing and troubleshooting using lab equipment
Ability to develop test plans and execute verification protocols
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Wireless connectivity experience (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi)
Cybersecurity for connected medical devices
Battery management systems and charging circuit design
DC/DC converters and power optimization
FPGA or ASIC design exposure
Basic Python or MATLAB for data analysis
Familiarity with RTOS for embedded systems
Understanding of IEC 62366 usability engineering
Experience with Class II or Class III medical devices
