Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner Needed Greater Northeast Ohio Region; Cleveland, OHStart Date: March 2026Contract Length: 13 weeks; potential extensionScheduleScheduled clinical coverage with required call24-hour call shifts, including weekend and holiday coverageCombination of rounding and call responsibilitiesSchedule based on departmental coverage needsPractice DetailsAcute care hospital cardiothoracic surgery programOperating room, ICU, and step-down unit coverageCollaborative team including cardiac and thoracic surgeons and advanced practice providersEMR system utilized for documentationClinical ScopeProvide cardiothoracic surgery support including first and second assist in cardiac and thoracic proceduresAssist with cardiac procedures including CABG, valve replacements, aneurysms, and dissectionsAssist with thoracic procedures including robotic, VATS, and open thoracotomy casesPerform endoscopic vein harvesting and radial artery harvestingProvide postoperative patient management in ICU and step-down settingsConduct patient rounding, including weekends and holidaysParticipate in call coverage and respond to emergent surgical needsPerform procedures within scope of practice including pacing wire removal, chest tube management, and related bedside proceduresDocument all patient care activities in EMRCollaborate with multidisciplinary surgical and critical care teamsRequirementsNurse Practitioner Acute Care or Cardiothoracic SurgeryActive Ohio license required at time of submissionDEA and applicable state prescriptive authority requiredBLS and ACLS certifications requiredExperience in cardiac and thoracic surgery requiredExperience with ICU and step-down patient management requiredEndoscopic vein harvesting experience requiredExperience with Epic EMR preferredStrong surgical assisting skills and ability to work in high-acuity environmentsCredentialingStandard credentialing timeframe appliesSubmission must include active license, DEA, NPDB, and supporting credentialsLocationLocated in the Greater Northeast Ohio region, supporting cardiothoracic surgery services across affiliated hospital facilities within a structured surgical and call coverage schedule.If you are interested or would like to be presented, please reach out to me for more details.Morgan HennesseyRecruiting Consultant
