Intern - Finance
Position SummaryThe Summer Finance Intern will support the Finance Department with a variety of accounting, administrative, and organizational tasks. This position provides hands-on experience in corporate finance and accounting operations, including expense allocation, account reconciliation, research, verification activities, and electronic records management. The intern will work closely with finance team members to support accurate financial reporting and efficient departmental operations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with company credit card expense allocations and documentation reviewGather, organize, and verify supporting financial information and receiptsPerform account reconciliations and assist with resolving discrepanciesConduct financial and accounting research as assignedSupport verification and audit-related activities for financial recordsMaintain and organize electronic files and accounting documentationAssist with data entry and updating accounting records in financial systemsPrepare spreadsheets, reports, and other supporting schedulesEnsure confidentiality and proper handling of financial informationProvide general administrative and operational support to the Finance DepartmentPerform other related duties and special projects as assignedCurrently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fieldBasic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to handle confidential information professionallyStrong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentPreferred SkillsExperience with accounting or ERP software is a plusStrong time management and multitasking abilitiesAbility to learn new systems and processes quicklyPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting and computer workAbility to occasionally lift and move files or office materials up to 15 poundsWork EnvironmentOffice environment with regular computer and administrative workMay involve collaboration with multiple departments and staff membersInternship DetailsSeasonal/Summer InternshipPart-time or full-time based on departmental needsHourly, non-exempt positionBring your passion, expertise, and experience to IBTS, where we appreciate and are committed to our employees.
