Job DetailsKettering Health Main Campus | Kettering | Full-Time | 12 Hour Shift NightsResponsibilities & RequirementsResponsibilities* The Health Unit Coordinator/Nursing Assistant (HUC NA) has a dual focus, a combination of the Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) and Nursing Assistant (NA) roles. They serve as a member of the interdisciplinary patient care team.* The HUC NA supports patients with activities of daily living and performs patient care skills as delegated by the licensed nurse within the Ohio Board of Nursing Scope of Practice.* The HUC NA also collaborates with unit leadership in coordinating the day-to-day activities of the patient care unit. This includes the processing of patient records and ongoing communication with nursing staff, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel. The HUC NA serves as a resource for physicians and other members of the health care team for the electronic medical record.* The HUC NA is responsible for maintaining and demonstrating knowledge, skill, and ability of the delegated tasks. The HUC NA also supports department operational needs, and performs other duties as assigned.* The HUC NA reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.QualificationsApplicants Must Have:Successful completion of KH Health Coordinator training upon hire into roleSuccessful completion of KH Nursing Assistant Orientation upon hire into roleCertification in CPR/BLSMust have one of the following:Six months experience as a nursing assistant in a hospital or a long-term care facilityCompletion of Nursing Assistant course in the last six monthsNursing student or listed as pre-nursing as shown on transcriptsCurrent employee with Kettering HealthPreferred QualificationsWould Prefer Applicants Have:* Reading, writing and basic math* Effective interpersonal and communication skills* Appropriate telephone etiquette* Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills* Customer service skills* Ability to multitask, prioritize and function in a high stress environment* Ability to problem solve* Ability to comprehend and complete delegated tasksOverviewKettering Health is a not-for-profit system of 13 medical centers and more than 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio.
