Senior Financial Controller - Renewables

A growing energy infrastructure platform is seeking a Senior Controller to join its team in NY, reporting directly to the CEO.The company currently owns and operates utility-scale battery energy storage assets in ERCOT and is entering a major growth phase following a significant transaction and broader platform expansion. With additional generation and storage projects planned, the platform is scaling rapidly and building out its finance and accounting infrastructure alongside that growth.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the accounting function across the platform and its project entitiesLead month-end close, financial reporting, and audit processesManage accounting across multi-entity and project-level structuresSupport tax equity, project finance, and investor reporting activitiesPartner with leadership on systems, controls, and process improvements as the company scalesLead and mentor the existing accounting team, including a Director of Accounting and staff accountantInterface with external auditors, lenders, tax advisors, and legal partnersQualificationsCPA required8+ years of progressive accounting experienceExperience within energy, infrastructure, project finance, or other asset-intensive industries preferredStrong understanding of multi-entity accounting structures and GAAP reportingExposure to project finance and/or tax equity structures strongly preferredComfortable operating in a lean, high-growth environment with evolving processesWhy This RoleReports directly to the CEOOpportunity to help shape and scale the accounting function during a major growth phaseBroad exposure across accounting, financing structures, and strategic initiativesMeaningful long-term upside and equity participationExecutive-facing role within a growing energy platform
