We are currently looking to expand our pool of substitutes at both the K8 and High School Campus. The substitute teacher will, like all teachers at MOT Charter, have a passion for education and a desire to be an integral part of a school that provides a first class learning experience maximizing our students' intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development.QUALIFICATIONS:Prior classroom teaching experience preferredBachelor's degree or higher preferredValid or expired with ability to reinstate Delaware or out-of-state educator or teaching certification preferredStrong classroom management and communication skillsFamiliarity with curriculum standards and teaching strategiesEffective communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parentsExperience with digital learning tools and classroom technology preferredSubstitute must be available to work the duration of leave of absence for the employeeRESPONSIBILITITES:Provide subject-specific instruction in accordance with lesson plans and curriculum objectivesEngage students in meaningful learning activities and discussionsAssess student understanding through informal checks, quizzes, and assignmentsSupport student needs through differentiation, accommodations, and responsive teaching practicesMaintain an orderly and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning, enforcing school rules and classroom behavior expectations consistentlyMaintain communication with students, parents/guardians, and school staff as neededEncourage and assist in the development of independent study habitsCommunicate with students concerning their academic and behavioral progressMake reasonable efforts to provide for the care and protection of school property, equipment, and materialsMaintain a professional relationship, working cooperatively with all school personnelParticipate in department or team meetings, professional development, and other school-related duties as requestedReport to work on time every workday, except as afforded by existing law The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee in this position.
