You will own the entire accounting function, report directly to senior leadership, and have visibility into every corner of a growing and complex portfolio.This is not a processing role. The right person is a builder who wants to put their fingerprints on the financial infrastructure of a company that is acquiring aggressively and scaling fast.Responsibilities:Own month-end and year-end close across multiple entities, including consolidated reporting up to the corporate levelLead a distributed accounting team and serve as the connective tissue between the books and executive decision-makingDrive cash flow forecasting, treasury oversight, and liquidity planning for a portfolio in active growth modeBuild and enforce internal controls that hold up as the company scales and the entity count growsManage all third-party financial relationships including auditors, tax advisors, and banking partnersEvaluate and improve the tech stack, including accounting platforms and reporting tools, to get ahead of operational complexityDeliver owner-level reporting and performance analysis that informs acquisition and asset management strategyPartner cross-functionally with operations and asset management to translate numbers into decisionsMust-Have Skills:Controller - Multifamily: 15+ years in accounting with at least 5 years in multifamily or real estateDeep GAAP knowledge and hands-on experience with multi-entity consolidationsExperience with property management accounting platforms such as Sage Intacct, Yardi, RealPage, or similarNice-to-Have Skills:CPA designationExperience managing offshore or distributed accounting teamsBackground supporting portfolio company reporting in a private equity or consolidation environment
