Affinity Hospice Management LLC - Clinical ServicesReports To: Clinical Director / Hospice Care ManagerEmployment Type: [Per Diem]Job SummaryThe Hospice Massage Therapist provides compassionate, therapeutic massage services to hospice patients to promote comfort, relaxation, and quality of life. Working as part of an interdisciplinary care team, the Massage Therapist supports patients and families during end-of-life care by addressing physical discomfort, emotional stress, and overall well-being through gentle, patient-centered massage techniques.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide safe, appropriate massage therapy to hospice patients in accordance with their care plans and medical conditionsAdapt massage techniques to meet the needs of patients with serious illness, limited mobility, pain, or sensitivityCollaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team (nurses, physicians, social workers, chaplains, aides) to coordinate careCommunicate observations and patient responses to massage therapy with the care teamMaintain accurate and timely documentation in patient recordsEducate patients and families about the benefits and limitations of massage therapy in hospice careFollow all hospice policies, infection control procedures, and safety guidelinesMaintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all timesTravel to patient homes, hospice facilities, or nursing facilities as requiredQualificationsCurrent state licensure or certification as a Massage Therapist (as required by state law)Completion of an accredited massage therapy programTraining or experience in hospice, palliative care, oncology massage, or medical massage preferredKnowledge of contraindications and modifications for medically fragile patientsAbility to work compassionately with patients and families during end-of-life careStrong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skillsPhysical & Emotional RequirementsAbility to perform gentle massage techniques for extended periodsAbility to lift and reposition limbs with proper body mechanicsEmotional resilience and comfort working with terminally ill patients and their familiesSchedule & Work EnvironmentFlexible scheduling based on patient needsMay include travel to multiple locations within the service areaCalm, patient-focused environment emphasizing comfort and respect
