Weld Engineer - ready to relocate the right resource (Windsor Locks)

The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skillsWhat You will Do:Work alongside cross functional teams to support weld engineering effortsCan develop, produce, and modify process operation and assembly sheets.Knowledge of GD&T and can integrate within a production process. Keen understanding of B/P interpretation as it relates to specification requirements.Experienced with basic manufacturing processes, methods, and techniques. Particularly in aluminum and steel brazing, welding, and machining. Understanding of Heat Exchanger manufacturing preferred.Ability to mark-up, edit, and update specifications for weld processes.Investigate welding related issues to improve product performance and increase productivity.Develop repair procedures and assess weld defects to determine the conformance of the weld.Develop standards, materials, weld joint design, and welding processesDevelop welding procedure qualification record, weld procedure specification, suppler qualification, and product testingTroubleshoot welding problems and provide corrective solutionsWorking knowledge of welding automation technologies, including robotic welding cells, PLC-controlled systems, and automated quality inspection methodsAbility to manage various projects and process tasks while following approval process for authoring operation sheetsCommunicates technical subject matter proficiently, both written and verbally.Responds effectively in high-paced environment.Production troubleshooting (cause & effect) must be a strength.Can rationalize and implement inspection methods and techniques.Skilled in project management and follows up on tasks daily.Create presentations based on process data and results to show opportunities for productivity improvements and cost savings.Ability to manage various project and process tasks related to product quality.What You will Bring:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.Solid understanding of manufacturing operationsKnowledge of various tools, gages, and fixturesProficient in blueprint readingSelf-motivated to ensure accountability, disciplined to improve processes, passionate about engineering, and organized to track many work streamsOrganized with the ability to multi-task while driving actions to completionExcellent communication and teamwork skillsSolid computer skills, including Microsoft Office with emphasis on ExcelPay Range: $85,000 - $110,000Work Requirements:This role is considered an on-site, first shift position located in Windsor Locks, CT.You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working first shift hours (7:30am – 4:00pm).Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.Travel requirements: Due to the nature of the work, 5% of travel is requiredBenefits:· 401(K)· 401(K) matching· Dental Insurance· Health Insurance· Paid time off· Vision Insurance
