Job DescriptionProspectBlue is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client's accounting team on a contract basis, with the strong potential to convert to a full-time role based on performance and business needs. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who can step in quickly and contribute to core accounting operations in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial dataPrepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of monthly and quarterly close processesCollaborate cross-functionally to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactionsLead fixed asset processes, including monthly entries, capital project spend approvals, and tracking/reporting of Construction in Progress (CIP) balancesPrepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepanciesAssist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedulesAnalyze financial results and provide insights on variances and trendsQualifications:5-7 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on general ledger accountingExperience supporting month-end close and reconciliations in a corporate environmentStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical capabilitiesAbility to work independently and manage priorities in a deadline-driven environmentAdditional Details:Schedule: Hybrid (Onsite Tuesday-Thursday)Location: Corporate Office - Glen Allen, VA
