You will receive a confirmation email after your online application has been submitted.If unable to complete the online application, please call our Main Office at (248) 244-3300 and ask for Human Resources regarding the Preventative Maintenance Technician role.Position DescriptionThe Preventative Maintenance Technician is Teamsters Union position and is responsible for performing services and perform small repairs (with little to no supervision) on all equipment and vehicles as required by company policies and procedures.Responsibilities:Performs preventative and predictive maintenance on all equipment and vehicles.Adheres to all safety rules and maintains good housekeeping (5S) in shop area and service truck.Completes assigned work ordersMaintains assigned company vehicle for field workReports all defects of equipment and vehiclesEnsures equipment meets DOT regulatory standards and company standardsMeeting all safety requirements (including toolbox talks, man lift inspections, submitting incident reports, Lockout/Tag out, PPE, etc.)Collection of oil samples and filling out paperworkPerform other related duties as assigned.Skills:Exhibits good problem solving skills; is able to identify problems, solicit other's opinions and offer valid solutions. Interprets and applies policies, procedures and guidelines.Must be mechanically inclinedBe able to communicate with all positions of the workforceExhibit honesty and trustworthinessPossess excellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient use of computer software, such as Word, Excel and PowerPointPosition RequirementsEducation/Experience:Experience with Asphalt & Concrete Construction Operations is a plusValid Commercial Driver License (CDL) is required2-4 years of mechanical experience, or in a related fieldExperience with heavy equipment is requiredHigh School DiplomaWork Environment/Physical Abilities:The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in the heat/cold, wet/humid and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. The physical abilities of this position require the employee to be able to frequently sit, stand, climb, low level work, reaching, bending, and trunk movements. Also may require carrying, pushing/pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking. Lifting requirements may include up to 60 pounds. Traveling is an essential requirement of this position to ensure implementation of Lube Technician functions.
